Back to Blogging...

I'm honestly not quite sure where the year went. It seemed to be in all too much of a hurry to come to a close, then the summer flew by in a whirlwind of pointe shoes and swimsuits and sandy beaches, and now it is nearly the end of August once again - almost time for the beginning of my next adventure.

Come September, I will be back in Saint Petersburg to complete one more year of study at the Vaganova Ballet Academy. My teacher, Liudmila Valentinova Kovaleva, invited me to continue my studies at the Academy during the 2014-2015 academic year, an invitation which I have chosen to accept. I know that this year will be challenging, as the last one was, but also rewarding and fulfilling. I hope to grow both personally and as an artist, improve my Russian language skills, and continue to explore the cultural and historical richness of Saint Petersburg.

Having completed my required high school courses and received my diploma from a school in my hometown, I will be able to focus even more fully on my dancing than I was able to in this past year. In the bit of spare time that I will now have, I plan to return to some other passions and hobbies that have been pushed aside in recent years as my dance and academic pursuits intensified - primarily reading, writing, and doing art - and, of course, I'm going to continue blogging about my adventures in Russia.
