Snow!

Besides a few pathetic snowflakes that floated aimlessly down from the sky and melted instantly upon contact with the ground, we hadn't had any snow... until today! This morning, as I hurriedly rushed out of the dorm building (I was already several minutes late for my Russian lesson), I was shocked when I opened the door to find the entire courtyard dusted in a layer of snow.

There wasn't much, but there was enough that I left footprints in the snow as I walked to the main building of the academy. (Mine are the ones going down the center of the photo).

It was just cold enough this morning for the snow to stay frozen, so when it warmed up a bit later on in the day, the snow quickly disappeared...

...excepting some of the stubborn slushy mess that likes to accumulate near the edges of the streets, of course.

I'm sure that it won't be long before the city is covered in a fresh, new, and beautiful layer of snow.
